2026 Women’s Day Art Challenge

Draw Beyond Labels

This March, Ohuhu celebrates Women’s Day 2026 with a global art challenge dedicated to empowerment, authenticity, and creative freedom.

Women don’t need to be strong all the time.
We can be emotional. We can rest. We can grow at our own pace.
Choosing softness, choosing boundaries, choosing self-care — that is power too.

Through this year’s theme, Draw Beyond Labels, we invite artists around the world to explore identity beyond stereotypes and expectations.

1. What Does “Draw Beyond Labels” Mean?

From a young age, many women are given labels — strong, soft, emotional, bossy, quiet, ambitious, too much, not enough.

But no one is defined by just one thing.

“Draw Beyond Labels” encourages you to look past how society defines women — and even how you define yourself — and create artwork that reflects who you truly are.

It is about:

  • Breaking stereotypes
  • Embracing individuality
  • Showing multiple sides of yourself
  • Redefining what strength looks like

Your power doesn’t have to look loud. It doesn’t have to look soft.
It only has to look like you.

2. What Can You Draw?

This challenge is open to artists of all levels — from beginners to advanced creators. Here are some ideas to help you get started:

🌸 Beginner-Friendly Ideas

If you’re new to art or prefer simple storytelling:

  • Draw yourself doing something you love.
  • Illustrate your favorite hobby that makes you feel confident.
  • Create a portrait showing your everyday life.
  • Draw symbols that represent your personality (flowers, objects, colors, etc.).

Focus on honest expression — not perfection.

🎨 Intermediate Ideas

If you want to explore deeper storytelling:

  • Show two different sides of yourself in one composition.
  • Create a character breaking free from a symbolic label.
  • Use contrasting elements (light & shadow, calm & bold, delicate & structured).
  • Illustrate women supporting each other despite differences.
✨ Advanced / Conceptual Approaches

For experienced artists who want to push further:

  • Explore visual metaphors that represent identity beyond stereotypes.
  • Deconstruct or reinterpret traditional symbols of femininity.
  • Create layered compositions that reflect inner vs. outer identity.
  • Tell a narrative story through symbolism and composition.

There is no single correct interpretation.
There is no “right” aesthetic.

Just be authentic.

It’s about honoring the quiet courage of being yourself.

At Ohuhu, we believe creativity empowers individuality.
Through color, through expression, through art — we celebrate every woman’s unique rhythm, voice, and identity.

This Women’s Day, draw beyond labels.
And let your art speak for who you truly are.
